About the Panel
area
The Mid Wales
Panel area stretches from Machynlleth in the North to Llandovery at the southern
end of the panel, and from near the coast almost as far across as the border,
the main areas are:-

Plynlimon
|
Featuring the highest point in the
panel area, at 752 metres, Plynlimon (Pumlumon - meaning 5 peaks in Welsh) and
its surrounding areas pose a challenge for any group, unfortunately camping in
this area is limited, due to its popularity with other users, but there are
possibilties on the perimeter of the wild country area.

Elan Valley
|
We are fortunate to have the support
of the Elan Valley Estate in our use of this area, it has developed into a highly
popular area for new and established groups, and has plenty of choice of campsites
and routes.

Tregaron &
Linear routes
|
Whilst the area surrounding Tregaron
is limited in terms of Gold expedition, it does offer natural terrain for silver
groups, as well as being linked to the Elan Valley, and being a natural through
point for linear routes. The panel is currently developing a dedicated campsite
for groups and supervisors in this area.
