Routes and Access We are fortunate in that most of the panel area is open access, there have been improvements made over the years, but some areas are still difficult, if you have any queries please feel free to contact us to discuss these further. Re-routing of Bridleway at Bodtalog farm, Cwmystwyth - Rhayader road. This bridleway has been officially re-routed to the west of the farm, no groups should now go through the farmyard. It is waymarked and there is a new signpost from the road opposite the layby at GR 856 747. New stiles South of Ty Newydd Farm, Cwmystwyth. The farmer at Ty Newydd is very supportive of our work, but has had problems with groups and other walkers crossing and damaging fences. Please note that there are 2 crossing points that the farmer has put in on the behalf of walkers. They are marked by white planks and are at GR 812 724 and 816 733. Please respect this when planning routes to and from Cwmystwyth. The area around the 'Sweet Lamb' rallying area south east of Plynlimon is best avoided in the interest of participant safety, unless you have an arrangement with the landowner. The Cefn Groes windfarm area is passable, but has large tracks across it. Most forestry areas are probably best avoided, however some do need to be used as links, if you have any worries, please contact us. We strongly advise groups not to undertake North/South linear routes at during Easter and October, due to the length of some days and daylight hours being limited.
